Practice always works, with or without a connection. Check your connection and try again in a little while. If the game asks for an update, install it.
Choose Friends, create a room and share its four-letter code or link. Everyone else chooses Friends and types the code, or opens the link. The website and the iPhone app play together.
Bots fill empty places so a match can start right away, and Practice is all bots. They always show BOT next to their name.
